EK Supreme (Classic) Full Nickel
This Limited Edition version of original Supreme block has a little story behind it.
All of it started last summer from ordering 6 copper tops to make full copper versions from Supremes we had already have on hand. Copper tops arrived with wrong screws and were forgotten for a few months. Later we managed to secure proper screws, but by that time Supreme blocks were discontinued and we didn’t have any left either. We managed to find 6 units at other distributor in Germany, who also offered to nickel plate block’s tops and bottoms to make Limited Edition version. Under the arrangement 6 copper tops went back to Europe. Upon arrival we discover that tops can not be plated as they have clear coat on them. With German determination and help of week long soaking bath, tops were plated and went back to Canada for the second time.
As there is nobody else crazy enough to jump trough similar hoops to repeat the process, we consider those 6 blocks are true Paifully Limited Edition. Having said that the block looks fantastic which makes it as a keeper.
The test results have brought two surprises.
First unexpected result was Supreme’s flow rate slightly better then Supreme LT block. Most of previous reviews suggested that Supreme is restrictive block, while Supreme LT is less restrictive version of the same. It turns to be that both blocks have similar flow rate along with Swiftech Apogee XT.
Second surprise was lack of performance gain from adding full copper top. We have expected that larger mass of the block will help it to perform better, but it was not happened and we ended up with the same result as last year.

Performance wise our Limited Edition Supreme is a fancy version of down to earth Supreme LT.
