2010 CPU Water Blocks Round Up
By Daz May 27, 2010
Koolance CPU-360
The newest block in our round up is Koolance CPU-360, which has been released in early 2010 and was quickly revised to Version 1.1 to make it fit boards with capacitors located close to CPU socket (Gigabyte for instance). The visual clues of revised block are angled corners of the block’s bottom and “Rev 1.1”marking on the side.
The first impression of the block is positive. Colour scheme is similar to Swiftech XT with some extra attention to details. Traditionally for Koolance the block has markings all over, which remove some guessing on correct way to connect this water block to the system. The bottom of the block is well polished with the same perfection as for Supreme family of the blocks.

Block disassembly reveals the same trend as with Supreme HF. Block’s internals machined rougher then it was for CPU-350 version.

For anybody who has seen internals of HeatKiller block, will have déjà vu from looking at the CPU-360. The internal design was completely changed from precision pins matrix array to HeatKiller like channels with impingement plate design.

In test block's flow rate readings were 0.1LPM higher then Supreme HF's with the most restrictive plate #1; cooling performance was slightly better then Swiftech block and marginally lower then Supreme HF.

Koolance block was also installed on Supreme HF mounting system. This was a tight fit, but it worked. As with previous model (CPU-350) block inlet and outlet must be in prescribed order, which is clearly marked on the block itself.
