2010 CPU Water Blocks Round Up

By Daz May 28, 2010

Watercool Heatkiller 3.0 Limited Edition

The final block in our 2010 roundup is legendary Heatkiller 3.0. This block swept away competition over a year ago and become a benchmark for hardcore enthusiasts. With the new blocks has been released by all major players since then, many are wondering  ”Is Heatkiller still good enough?”.

The block we used in this review was a Heatkiller 3.0  full copper version, which was custom nickel plated.

Block’s internal craftsmanship is most precise out of all other blocks have been reviewed except of old Supreme model.  We did pictures after the test, so you can see some additional reflection from cooling liquid inside.

Heatkiller’s flow rate was lower then Supreme HF or Koolance models and its performance was slightly lower as well.  Having said that, we did not observe dramatic 3-4 degree gap here, so it hardly justifiable to rush to the door for a replacement.

Along with Koolance and Swiftech blocks, Heatkiller was successfully installed on EK mounting system without problem.
